Just for the heck of it, we have selected four random funny stories from the old humorous ‘Life Magazine’ that were published in 1922.
Today we offer a prohibition-era tale of a truly miserable town, entitled ‘Civic Pride.’

Today, a businessman makes an emergency long-distance phone call to his wife (a pretty rare and costly thing to do in 1922) in the story, The Voice With the Smile Wins.’
