Mister Ron's Basement #87 This week Mister Ron's Basement digs out funny stories from H. C. Bunner ('H. C. Who?' you might say...). Bunner was the editor of Puck Magazine and one of the most popular humorists of the late 19th Century. He is largely forgotten today. Bunner's stories are great though -- today's is 'The Cumbersome Horse.' Mister Ron's Basement #77 George W. Peck was an American Original -- after becoming famous as a humorist, he went into politics and eventually served two terms as Governor of Wisconsin. After the Civil War, he toured the lecture circuit performing a comedy routine based on his experiences as a private who went up the ranks until he became an officer.
