Mister Ron's Basement #1126 James Montgomery Bailey left a wonderful legacy of unique humor concerning life in the booming Connecticut suburbs of the post-Civil War era. His 'Danbury News' had a huge mail subscriber base from across the US, from people hungry for his funny stories. Tastes changed though, and by the late 1870s his popularity fizzled out. This week, we will be presenting very short stories from his 1873 collection, 'Life in Danbury.' Today we hear about an inherited gun -- loaded, of course! -- in the story 'A Dangerous Safeguard.' Time: approx three and a half minutes The Mister Ron's Basement Full Catalog can be found at: http://ronevry.com/Mister_Rons_Full_Catalog.html The James M.
