Mister Ron's Basement #650

Our 650th EPISODE!!!

Elbert Hubbard was one of the most popular American writers of the early twentieth century. He had an enormous output of books, stories, and articles, and he founded a community of artisans in East Aurora, New York known as the Roycrofters, who produced beautiful hand-crafted books and furniture. He worked with Frank Lloyd Wright, and was much sought after on the lecture circuit.

He and his wife died aboard the ill-fated Lusitania in 1915.

This week, we will be reading some of Hubbard's humorous pieces from a trio of slim volumes published by the Roycrofters in 1920.

Today's tale, ironically, is called 'Titanic Survivor.'

Time: approx nine minutes
