Mister Ron's Basement #349 Thomas Bailey Aldrich wrote literate poetry, serious novels, critical articles, and oblique humor from the 1870s up until his death in 1907. His 1903 piece 'On A Certain Affectation' explores a curious quirk of sensitive Modern Young People. It's pretty funny.
