Mister Ron's Basement #727 The old Life Magazine (the humor magazine) held a contest in 1916 looking for the best 'Shortest Stories.' The 81 best of those tales were collected in a book called 'Short Stories from Life." This week we will be reading some of the best of the best. Today, an inexperienced attorney is given a confessed murderer to defend for his first case in 'The Joke on Preston' by Lewis Allen.
