Mister Ron's Basement No. 1940
We are reading some early funny stories taken from W. L. Alden’s 1878 book ‘Shooting Stars.’
Back in the 1870s, people experienced embarrassment from things that are a little difficult to understand today, such as slipping socks and garter belts. In fact, this is central to today’s hilarious tale, ‘Mr. Simpkins’ Downfall.’
Time: approx eight and a half minutes
