Mister Ron's Basement #244 Detroit journalist C. B. Lewis's writing, popular in the late nineteenth century, doesn't often translate well to today's readers. Nevertheless, there are at least a handful of pieces in his 1884 book 'Sawed-Off Sketches' that are pretty funny. Today's tale involves a woman checking up on her husband's account of a trip to the big city, in 'The Game that 'Jeems' Played.'
